Geographical Boundaries

Just a page to set out the geographical boundaries that I have set for the purposes of this blog.

So for Oldham this will include the following:

Oldham
Chadderton
Royton
Hollinwood
Shaw and Crompton
Lees
Saddleworth - encompassing the villages of : Denshaw, Delph, Diggle, Uppermill, Dobcross, Greenfield and Grasscroft.
Failsworth  ( I always thought this came under Manchester but seems it does come under Oldham)

There is an interesting History here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldham
I found the following extract particularly interesting and I do have a fondness for textile mills.
"It was a boomtown of the Industrial Revolution, and among the first ever industrialised   towns, rapidly becoming "one of the most important centres of cotton and textile industries in England" At its zenith, it was the most productive cotton spinning mill town in the world, spinning more cotton than France and Germany combined."

For Tameside the list reads:
Ashton
Audenshaw
Denton
Droylsden
Dukinfield
Hyde
Mossley
Mottram-In-Longdendale
Stalybridge

Here is some information on Tameside : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tameside

So all Photos featured will be taken within these geographical boundaries.
