The first post - click on the images to see much larger sized versions

Well I feel the below image is the perfect one to start off my site as it encompasses both geographical areas that this site is about.  The shot was taken from the roof of a now demolished mill in Oldham and along with Maple mill one can see, in the distance, hartshead pike - which is in Tameside.

Whilst the name is oft used when referring to the tower it was actually originally the name of the hill upon which it stands.

From the pike one can see, on a clear day, 4 counties - Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Cheshire.

Whilst I was up on the mill roof there were some very moody looking clouds.

It was quite a view from that roof - we could see so much of the Oldham landscape.

Time to leave the mill now.

Well Done on another stunning set of photographic delights! I am somewhat of a geographic dinosaur but it doesn't stop me appreciating good vista.

Keep up the Good Work, my friend!
